Get More for Your Textbooks at Bookmans
Bookmans offers cash or trade for your text books. You can use that trade for movies, musical instruments, video games — anything in our stores! Our trade credit is accepted at every Bookmans location, including the new Bookmans Sports in Tucson.
When you finish finals and no longer need those books, bring them to us. Most of what we sell is recycled directly from our customers, and we’re here to help make the most of your trade-in experience. We are flexible to customer demand, current store stock and the condition of textbooks that come across the trade counter. While you shop, we will sort through your books and set aside what we can use at that time. When you’re ready, we’ll have an offer in Bookmans trade credit or cash waiting for you. If you have a question, let us know. Our offers are as flexible as our stock and we’re happy to clarify the process for you.
You have the choice of store credit or cash for textbooks that we’re able to use from your trade-in. Trade credit spends like cash in all of our stores and never expires.

I have eleven medical college text books do you take them?? If you do how do I get them too you?? I live in Arizona City. A question about the cash. Is the cash money??? And do you have to use it in your stores??
Hi Amanda,
Our primary concern for textbooks is current edition and not subject matter, so your medical textbooks will be received as any other textbook would. We only buy over our trade counters, so you would need to find a way to come see us. It’s some distance, so you can call the stores to check on the titles first, though there will be other concerns like condition. In other words, we can’t make an offer over the phone but we might be able to give you an idea of our ability to purchase your books.
If we can make a deal, you will have two offers. One will be for cash and the other will be for trade credit. The trade offer will be for a higher value than the cash offer. Trade credit can be spent on anything in any of our stores and it never expires, so that’s a pretty good deal. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. RB
Hello I finished my semester at college and I have a couple books I would like to sell they are business 6 introduction to business and custom program for CIS110 the pearson thank you and I hope to hear from you!!!
Hi Brandon,
Thanks for considering Bookmans as the place to get value from your used textbooks. We make all our offers in store, over the trade counter. The stores can’t make a deal over the phone, but you can call them to try to determine if the textbooks you have are current editions that we can use. RB
So roughly, how much is one textbook worth?
The offers we make on textbooks varies widely and depend on factors including edition, title, original price, availability, and demand. You can always call our stores with an inquiry, but we only make offers over our trade counter.
Will Bookmans buy a reader…nook?
We do buy Nooks. Call your nearest Bookmans to see if they’re currently seeking e-readers.
Have gone to you for years, MY question is what does a person do with the outdated Algebra, Geometry books? Ya can’t throw a book away………..Is there any person store in town that has a need?
thanks for your time
Bev
You can still try to sell them over our trade counter. We wouldn’t sell them in the stores, but we may have an affiliate who would be interested. You can also look for online companies who would purchase the textbooks for you. We do have a program where all books left at our trade counter are made available to local schools and libraries to pick through. If all else fails, we have a lovely board on Pinterest to help you make something cool from your books.
We appreciate your patronage and your comment. Thanks for your time, Bev, and we hope that you find a happy place for your textbooks.
DO YOU SELL USED TEXTBOOKS OR JUST BUY THEM?
Most of our textbooks are sold through our affiliates, Abe, Alibris and Amazon, where we have storefronts. You can find some textbooks on our shelves. You can contact our stores via phone or e-mail if you want to request a book look. We have no electronic inventory so the only way to know is for us to physically check our shelves.
Hi. I have some books from a massage therapy school in Phoenix, Arizona that I want to sell. They are in very good condition. Will I be able to sell them at Bookmans?
Hello Hannah, I am unable to speculate about your textbooks online as we only make deals in person. Having said that, you can give Bookmans Phoenix (602.433.0255) or Bookmans Mesa (480.835.0505) a call to get a sense of what’s happening at their trade counter. They won’t tell you what the offer would be or even if they will make an offer, but they may be able to give you a firm no if they aren’t buying that day.
What if you live in another state and can’t bring the books to you? Can we mail them to you?
Hi Emily, It’s our policy to make offers in person, over our trade counter. It’s likely that you can find a buyer for your textbooks closer to home.
Do you buy loose leaf books that have been put in binders?
Hi Alex,
We make all our offers in store and over the trade counter. And each store is different. I would suggest giving your local Bookmans a call. A team member will be able to give you an idea on whether or not hauling your loose leaf textbooks to our trade counter is worth it. Best of luck and thank you for reaching out.
Do you ship books?
Thank you
Hi Amy,
Thanks for commenting. From our brick and mortar, we do not ship books or any media sold in store. We do however sell books through other outlets such as Amazon that can ship directly to you. Best of luck and feel free to stop by one of our six locations if you ever find yourself in our neck of the woods.
Do you guys sell e-readers (nook or kindle) and if so how much do they cost ?
Hey Bryant, we do not maintain a digital inventory, so to find out if your local Bookmans has a nook or kindle in store you would have to give them a call. You can find that info at bookmans.com/stores and they can give you a better idea. Thanks!
I have quite a few books from college that I don’t want/need anymore. Will Bookmans take donated books?
Absolutely! Bring them in and we can give you a price for cash or trade if we can use your particular titles. π
