It’s that time of year again and Tucson Comic-Con is right around the corner. As an avid convention attendee, this is one of my favorite times of the year. I’m often so overcome with excitement and anticipation of the weekend ahead I forget to take all the necessary precautions to protect myself. Don’t be like me. Here are some tips and trick to help you survive your Comic-Con experience.

#PlanYoAttack

Plan your days. With some many different things happening throughout each day of the convention, do yourself the favor and plan ahead. Don’t wait until you arrive at the convention to figure out what you and your friends are doing for the day. Don’t miss that panel you were dying to see because you were waiting in line to get in. Always have a backup plan. Full panels happen, so don’t fret if you can’t make it into that super popular panel. Sometimes the best panels are the ones you weren’t expecting.

#HydrateYoself

You are a beautiful geeky flower that needs watering and you crave Brawndo. I don’t have to tell you how important it is to drink water. You literally need it to survive.

#BagYoSwag

I get it. A backpack or tote bag may not exactly go with your cosplay costume, but unless you’re wearing a costume with a dozen pockets of holding, just trust me. With all the cool stuff for sale and swag you can get from awesome vendors, you’ll want something to hold it all in. No one is going to hate on your rad outfit just because you’re carrying a JanSport.

#MindYoFeet

You’re going to be on your feet all day. Treat them with respect. If you absolutely cannot bear the idea of wearing shoes that don’t exactly match what you’re wearing, break those suckers in. Comic-Con is not the time or place to wear those super spikey shoes.

#CosYoPlay

Comic-Con is all about having fun. My favorite part about the whole shebang is seeing how awesome everyone looks. Also, what is more fun than dressing up as your favorite character? Even if costumes aren’t your thing, wear a fun t-shirt or dress. Comic-Con is all about showing love to the things that make you happy. So, share that happiness with everyone!
We especially want to see you! Bookmans will be at Tucson Comic-Con dressed in our finest cosplay. We hope that you’ll come and hang out with us at our booth!
