Ticket Tuesday | Rebelution at Mesa Amphitheatre
**CONTEST CLOSED**As summer heats up in Arizona, a little beach-inspired relief is headed to the Valley of the Sun. California roots & reggae band, Rebelution will grace the Mesa Amphitheatre stage on Thursday, June 15 at 7:00 p.m. Along with fellow bands, Nahko and Medicene for the People, Rebelution brings their unique brand of reggae, roots, calypso and ska-infused jam-band grooves to town. Gather up the flip flops, beach towels and cold drinks! Don’t miss this opportunity to channel some coastal breezes at this stellar summer concert. Tickets start at $35, but not to worry: this Ticket Tuesday, we’re giving away two tickets to see Rebelution live in Mesa.
From Austin City Limits to Outside Lands, Rebelution is frequently a fixture at high profile music festivals across the globe. Founded in the beach-side town of Isla Vista, California, the band has been going strong since 2004. Collegemates-turned-bandmates, Eric Rachmany, Matt Velasquez, Rory Carey, Wesley Finley and Marley D. Williams put their musical abilities together and the rest is history. Known for their intriguing melodies, forward-thinking lyrics, and unique arrangements, Rebelution is a leader among American reggae-fusion ensembles. Their album, Courage to Grow earned an iTunes Editor’s Choice for Best Reggae Album of 2007. The single from that album, “Safe and Sound” made its way around the airwaves from San Diego’s 91X to Los Angeles’s KROQ and beyond. Get into the Pacific Coast spirit this Ticket Tuesday and try your luck at winning passes from Bookmans!

Oh summer. Summertime was usually the time of the year that I was introduced to new music usually through the radio because I now had time to listen to music hours on end. One of my favorite summer + music memories was watching the music video to Black Hole Sun one hot summer night in a hotel room when my family was vacationing. I remember turning up the radio every time it came on and soaking up the sound while baking in the sun next to a hotel pool.
Hey Nicky, thanks for the throwback. I remember trying to record Black Hole Sun on a cassette tape when the radio would play it. Good choice! You’re in the running to win.
santeria – sublime is my summer song!!
Another great choice Daneel. Thanks for sharing and welcome to the giveaway!
I am not familiar with Rebelution but it sounds like a great way to start off summer! I grew up with California Love on the radio during road trips, so it’s always been synonymous with summer for me.
The song that most describe summertime is one of my top favorites by slightly stoopid “officer”. It has such a good tone and rhythm to it and it goes good with anything especially road trips during summer or chilling by the pool . Revolution has some good songs that go well with summer time too, hope I win!!
I’d have to stay in the lines of Rebelution and say “Good Vibes” is my summer song. Almost every time I have seen them in Arizona, it was during summer and this song gets the entire crowd excited. It’s all about being positive and enjoying life with everyone around you. It’s the best summer song and life message!
My Sweet Summer by Dirty Heads. This song alone brings back the best summer I had, which was two years ago. It was filled with lots of concerts, including them and Rebelution, lots of sunshine, and plenty of beer! It really takes me back to the last of my carefree days. Summer is always the best time for concerts, so I hope I win to relive my no-baby-responsibility days.
REBELUTION makes me love Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. All seasons. The good vibes these guys bring is insane. Their music is a breath of fresh air. I can always count on Rebelution to brighten up my day. Bright Side of Life, Feeling Alright, De-Stress are just some of my favorites.
Whether it’s relaxing by the pool or on my balcony, Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd are my Summer (all the) time artists. The music is chill and relaxing. You can never go wrong with these two legendary artists.
Steal My Sunshine by Len will forever be summer time jam!!!
Sublime – What I Got is the summer time tune!
Where the beach meets the ocean by Mike Pinto
Reminds me of the best place to be during the summer — the beach!!
I love summer. Beach boys are classic but my go to summer song this summer is Summer nights by Iration! I loveee iration and rebelution and this song makes me want to be on the beach

I can’t think of a better song to symbolize a kind summer than Wasting Time from ALO. Good times with friends out on the porch for sure!
Have a listen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC-LhavVeGI while you take in the lyrics at https://genius.com/Alo-wasting-time-isla-vista-song-lyrics
Yea, now that’s what I’m talking about, just wasting a little time on a summer afternoon doncha know.

Love all kinds of reggae! But also oldies like The Beach Boys for summertime. Rebelution is one my favs!!
Because Summer is the kind of vibe you want to feel and Rebelution is the sound I want to hear…?
Dirty Heads’ My Sweet Summer is a great summer song!
Rebelution- feeling alright is An amazing summer anthem. It’s so laid back and makes you feel good which is what summer should do. It makes you want to lay by the pool or beach and forget about your troubles! This is going to be an amazing show to kick off the summer!
It’s been too long since I’ve been to a good reggae show! This would be a good one to get me back into the scene! My best friend who passed away a few years ago introduced me to Rebelution so it would be cool to see them live.
I grew up in the 90s so whenever I hear “no rain” by Blind Melon or “steal my sunshine” by Len… Most reggae songs also are good summer time hits.
It’s so hard to choose one song, but since this is for Rebelution tickets, I’ll choose a Rebelution song. Oh wait, it’s hard to choose just one Rebelution song. 🙂 Ok when I think of summer, an awesome Rebelution song that I enjoy is Feeling Alright, because it brings all the cool (or in our case in AZ~hot) summer vibes! <3
Thank you everyone for sharing your summertime songs! If you see your comment, you are in the running to win tickets to the show. Best of luck!
Omg I am dying for the winners to be announced!!!! ????
