Love of Reading month is a time to honor the pastime that molds our lives and allows us to grow in countless ways. We are thankful for every moment spent reading. Books are a gift given to us by the authors who spend their lives pouring their ideas, creativity and talents into crafting stories. Take time this month to remember the books that made the biggest impact on your life. By rereading such books, you can rediscover parts of yourself that you may have thought you lost.

Bookmans Love of Reading

Inspired by Love of Reading month, book department employee and book enthusiast Darcy Short, came up with a top ten list of her all time favorite books. Darcy, who you can find at almost any given time with her nose in a book, is filled with recommendations and insight of books to fuel your mind with love of reading.

Darcy: I did a top 11 list because why count down 10 books when you can have 11? Plus I’m indecisive.

My Top 11 Books Ever

1. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
2, The Sandman graphic novels by Neil Gaiman
3. The Complete Works of Oscar Wilde
3. Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut
4. Civilwarland in Bad Decline by George Saunders
5. Death with Interruptions by Jose Saramago

You know what? I’m an over-achiever, so how about we up the titles to 15? That’s a much better number.

14. The Girl who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of her Own Making by Catherynne Valente
