Halloween Lantern Craft at Bookmans Grant

Bookmans Grant has tons of fun in store for you the week of Halloween. We are most excited about this cool lantern project we have planned from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29. It’s a great way to decorate your porch or window and to light your trick or treating route.

We really, REALLY want you to come make one with us. We provide all the materials for this free, family-friendly in-store project. If you have other obligations that keep you away, we made a tutorial because it’s fun to share too.

Materials:
* mason jar
* glue
* a flameless candle tea light
* some streamers
* yarn
* googley eyes

Step 1:
Start by crumpling the streamers to give them texture.

Step 2:
Glue one end of the streamers to the top of the mason jar.

Step 3:
Wrap the jar until it is covered and glue the streamer to the bottom. It’s okay if there are little areas not covered because it will allow more light through.

Step 4:
Add googley eyes.

Step 5:
Cut a 1.5 ft piece of yarn and glue it to the inside of the jar.

Step 6:
Add flameless candle and screw on lid.
