Ticket Tuesdays — Rock Bottom Remainders
***CONTEST CLOSED***
We purchased an extra set of tickets to the Tucson Festival of Books’ Rock Bottom Remainders Concert – A benefit for literacy and are passing them along to a Bookmans.com reader. You do not want to miss this group of award-winning authors who will perform at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 13 in the University of Arizona Student Union Memorial Center’s Grand Ballroom to kick-off the 7th Annual Tucson Festival of Books. This extraordinary experience for book lovers also supports literacy programs in Southern Arizona.
In addition to enjoying the performance antics of New York Times best-selling authors Amy Tan, Mitch Albom, Dave Barry, Scott Turow, Ridley Pearson, Greg Iles, Alan Zweibel and Sam Barry, you’ll mingle with other Festival authors, enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks, and take home a limited edition T-shirt created just for this event. Dress in casual concert clothing (jeans are appropriate), but be photo ready as you will definitely want to share your pics on Instagram and Facebook. Tag #TFOB so we can check you out.
Have you camped out in front of a bookstore to be the first to purchase a new release? (Our Harry Potter memories are still fresh.) Have you written a letter to your favorite author get insight into a character’s development ala Augustus and Hazel Grace? To enter for a chance to win a pair of passes to see the TFOB Rock Bottom Remainders Concert – A benefit for literacy, tell us the whackiest thing you’ve done as a book lover. We will select a winner using random.org. The winner will be notified by e-mail sometime on Wednesday or possibly even Thursday. Be sure to check your e-mail inbox for a message from us since we’ll need your contact information.
If you are not our winner, fret not. You can come to the party too! Tickets are on sale for $75 per person and $40 may be tax deductible. Come dance with Bookmans to celebrate literacy and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience! Limited seating will be available in the venue.

I went out sick and in pjs to purchase the last Harry Potter book and then spent the day on the couch reading it all 🙂
The wackiest thing I’ve done is create a song parody of The Grinch song that had to do with a book (and characters) I loved. Then, I sent it to the author. I’m so in awe of my favorite authors that to contact them online or go to their book signings and ask questions, for me, is completely daring, as my heart is usually racing a bit just to speak to them. So, I was so nervous to do even that one thing. I KNOW they are just regular people, but they are my rock stars!
