It’s a Ticket Tuesday giveaway! Ever wanted to throw a ball with a Major League player? Hit a home run with a Tucson star athlete? Well with MixFM you can! Presented by Tucson Medical Center and Scripps Media, Play Catch With An All Star invites future athletes to rub elbows with some of Tucson’s own. Taking place October 8th from 12pm to 4pm at the Tucson Jewish Community Center, Play Catch With An All Star will host three one-hour sessions, two clinicals and one gathering. Families are encouraged to attend and receive help perfecting that curve ball. Equipment will be provided and children can choose between baseball, soccer, basketball, softball or volleyball.

We will allow 24 hours for commenting and winners will be notified via email on Wednesday, September 21st. Comments are moderated and may take some time to appear. Shelley Duncan
A homegrown baseball prodigy, Shelley started a dominant career with the Dorados of CDO, led the University of Arizona in power numbers in his career as a Wildcat, and was then drafted by the NY Yankees in the second round of the 2001 MLB draft. In his big league career Shelley hit over 43 home runs and totaled 200 career hits for 3 Major League Clubs. Duncan currently manages the Hillsboro Hops, a Minor League affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Callista Balko-Elmore
All State softball star for CDO High School, signed with UA and University of Arizona All Pac 12. Catcher for the 2006 and 2007 National Championship Teams. Played in the World University Games. Drafted in 2008 by the Washington Glory in the National Pro Fastpitch League.

Corey Williams
Williams graduated from the University of Arizona in 1996 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. He helped the Wildcats win two Pac-10 titles, as well as make an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance and a trip to the 1994 Final Four. Williams played professional basketball for 12 years, playing on teams in Luxembourg, Switzerland and Belgium.

Jared Perkins
Jared is a Tucson Native and has been a soccer standout since youth. Attending Desert Christian High School, Perkins appeared in four state title games, twice taking home All State honors and two state championships. Perkins was awarded a soccer scholarship and was a standout at Trinity University in Chicago.

David Williams
David has been a staple in the Tucson volleyball scene for over 20 years. He has coached varsity high school, coached at David Rubio’s Summer Camps, worked with and cultivated countless college players, and led various club teams, including the prestigious Club Cactus Volleyball team in Tucson. Williams is known for his motivational skills and being a “players coach”.
