Regina’s Best Books of 2015

Bookmans Flagstaff Visual Merchandiser and mega reader, Regina Salmons, shares her fave fiction works of 2015. As a used bookstore, we specialize in what’s “New to You” (or us). Some of these books are not recently published but they still make Regina’s list of Best Books of 2015.

Funny Girl by Nick Hornby
From the man who brought us About a Boy and High Fidelity comes another tale of flawed, yet charming, characters. Incredibly funny and endearing, Regina highly recommends this novel.

Stone Mattress by Margaret Atwood
Described by Atwood as a collection of tales rather than stories, Stone Mattress offers nine tales including I Dream of Zenia with The Bright Red Teeth, a sequel to Atwood’s novel The Robber Bride.

Absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian by Sherman Alexie
A beloved author to many, Regina made it her goal to to read her way through all of Alexie’s works. If you are unfamiliar with Part Time Diary, check out Emme’s Banned Book Club post about this amazing novel and the many attempts to ban it.

Two Caravans by Marina Lewycka
After being forced to leave the strawberry fields they work on, a crew of migrant workers travel across England in hopes of better opportunities and achieving their dreams.

The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood
This book takes place in a dodgy apartment building where credit checks and leases are never required and the neighbor is a killer. Let the mystery and intrigue begin!
