The Second Chance Book Fest is Coming!
It was such a huge bummer for everyone to hear that the annual Tucson Festival of Books had been canceled this year. We totally understand why, and we will, of course, be first in line to attend TFOB 2021! Bookmans stores are ecstatic to announce that we’re working with the authors already in T-town by hosting Second Chance Book Fairs at all three of our Tucson stores! That’s right, we’ve got a whole lot of authors coming to Bookmans Midtown, East, and Northwest this weekend, March 13th through 15th, for signings and book celebrations!
Without the Tucson Festival of Books, our community partner Literacy Connects is going to need your direct support. Not only can you donate directly to them to keep Tucson reading, but you can also help them by grabbing as many books as you can from Bookmans at your local Second Chance Book Fest. For each and every book sold from March 13 through March 15, from kids’ books to nonfiction to cookbooks, Bookmans will donate 10% of our sales to Literacy Connects!
PLUS, TFOB presenting author Dr. Erica Elliot is going to be at Bookmans Midtown on Thursday at 5:30 PM to kick off the book love! As the attending authors roll in we’ll announce them all, but for now… let’s get your calendars booked!
First up is the Second Chance Book Fest at Midtown on March 13 from 5 – 7 PM. A bevy of authors from Tucson and out of town will descend upon our Midtown store Friday night to hang out with their fans and get to know their neighbors. Bookmans Midtown will be featuring: Melissa Koberlein, Jessica Feinberg, Marianne Dissard, Chris Rush, Meagan Poetschlag, Eric Wood, Geri’ Meyers Goodwin, and Carly Herriges.
Saturdays wouldn’t be complete without a trip to the bookstore, and Bookmans East is making this trip extra-special with the Second Chance Book Fest, starting at 12 PM. Authors from far and wide are heading over for three whole hours of book-loving fun! Bookmans East will be featuring the following authors: Melissa Koberlein, Jessica Feinberg, Eric Wood, Kathleen Arthur, Jeff Mann, AJ Flick, Garry Harrington, Meagan Poetschlag, and Carly Herriges!
Then, come Sunday, everyone who’s any kind of book enthusiast will be at Bookmans Northwest for their Second Chance Book Fest from 12 – 2 PM. They’ll be hosting even more authors who are going to make your book-filled weekend magical and help stock your TBR pile to boot. Bookmans Northwest is excited to welcome authors Jessica Feinberg, Melissa Koberlein, Angel Allendale, Sallie Cochren, Bob Fedor, A.J. Flick, Bobbi Trudeau Simpkins, Kathryn Humphrey!
We feel like we’re forgetting something… Oh yeah, THE EXCLUSIVE BOOKMANS MERCH WE’VE GOT FOR YOU! There has never been a better time to stock up on books, it’s true, but there’s also only once a year that you can get your Bookmans TFOB tote bag, and that’s this weekend! Since we’re doing something a little different this year, we’re giving away a FREE TOTE BAG with the purchase of any four books. Why four books instead of free with any purchase as usual? Because this year, every book you buy helps a local literacy organization!
Want to know more about that Tucson Festival of Books exclusive merchandise? We’ve got so many cool items you’ll want to grab before their gone! We’ve got some seriously cool gear for you to show off your love of the banned. For the first time ever, we’ve got Bookmans employee-designed banned book posters, metal bookmarks that will last a lifetime, super limited-edition t-shirts, and aprons both short and long. Everything is in limited quantities for TFOB, so these exclusives won’t be around for long. Grab what you can before it’s gone!
