Ticket Tuesdays — Buckwheat Zydeco with Carnivaleros and Easy Star All-Stars
****CONTEST CLOSED****
Across the whole state of Arizona, The Rialto Theatre has to be one of our favorite venues for live music. They book a solid schedule of interesting, electric performers and they are always willing to spread the joy. This week, Buckwheat Zydeco with Carnivaleros and Easy Star All-Stars take The Rialto stage to invigorate our pueblo. The Rialto provided us with a pair of passes so that one of you can catch this performance at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 25.
American musical legend Stanley “Buckwheat” Dural Jr. is the preeminent ambassador of Louisiana’s zydeco music. You don’t have to take the word of a kajillion music experts and you don’t have to be an uber zydeco fanatic to be enthusiastic about this show. Buckwheat Zydeco upped their pop culture cred when Jimmy Fallon chose him to open the final episode of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. If you’ve gotten into zydeco music, or felt its influence, or watched the world celebrate this great aspect of Louisiana culture over the past 30+ years it’s likely been because of Buckwheat Zydeco.
This concert gets bigger with the Easy Star All-Stars taking the stage as well. Easy Star All-Stars established themselves as a top international reggae act. They rock every crowd they play for, whether it’s to thousands at festivals or hundreds at club gigs and private events (like the wedding of NYC Mayor Mike Bloomberg’s daughter). The Easy Star All-Stars built a growing, dedicated fan base throughout the world, bringing together fans of reggae, classic rock, dub and indie rock into one big family. Their newest release, Easy Star’s Lonely Hearts Dub Band, tackles the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in complete reggae fashion.
While Buckwheat Zydeco and Easy Star All-Stars lead this concert, several other large-print musicians are on the ticket including Carnivaleros, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad and Tatanka. Ranging from $12 to $26, tickets are crazy affordable for this all-ages concert.

I’ve never been to the Rialto, but I love that it’s in Tucson! 🙂
