Words and sound, literary noise, a movie in your mind? We call it heaven. We Bookmans Speedway peeps love audio books and evidently we aren’t alone. Audio book sales are up 19% nation wide. Numbers like these make voice actors rejoice and cause publishers to take notice. Bookmans has seen this trend in our stores too, but unlike industry analysts we aren’t surprised. Our love affair with the spoken word has quietly raged for some time now and it has finally paid off. Bookmans Speedway was chosen to host a Random House sponsored event with one of Audiophile’s top reviewers, Jonathan Lowe of Tower Review.

Audio Book Day

For fans of the genre, favorite narrators are common. A good actor can make or break an audio performance. Now is Tucson’s chance to get one-on-one time with an industry insider. Lowe has worked with the best in the business. Find out about your favorite narrators and get educated recommendations. Join us from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 8 for your chance to win big prizes and sample books. We will give away three narrator signed audio books, narrator playing cards and download codes. We will also have random drawings throughout the day for free used audio books.

If you have been interested in trying audio books or if you are a die hard fan this is the perfect opportunity to get your questions answered, test new books and win free prizes. Bookmans Speedway always has a terrific selection of the best titles in the genre, so grab your trade and head on over for a day of audio fun!
