Poefest: Arizona Student Writing Competition 2021
PoeFest 2021 is celebrating its 13th year commemorating the works of Edgar Allan Poe, and you can be a part of it all. PoeFest has been a labor of love for a decade. When PoeFest first opened, it did so to just six audience members. With a packed audience on the third night, they knew they had something special. The fest includes mainstage productions of Poe’s short stories every weekend during the month of October with Poe’s stories rotate nightly. PoeFest usually culminates on Halloween night with ‘The Raven’ at Rosson House Museum. But there’s something extra special about PoeFest that makes Bookmans honored to be a sponsor!
For those just learning about this annual event, PoeFest is the yearly fundraiser for Arizona Curriculum Theater Inc., a 501(c)3 educational charity finding innovative ways to connect the arts to the curriculum. They offer more than two dozen programs, workshops, as well as shows designed for the classroom integrating the arts as a tool to teach the curriculum. Click here to learn more about ACT Inc.
The PoeFest Student Writing Competition is open to all Arizona students in 7th, 8th, and 9th grades for the 2020-2021 school year. Submissions can be emailed to contest@poefest.org. Hello. Bookmans is the sponsor of this writing event, but the rules are put in place by PoeFest themselves. Their rules indicate that 9th grade is the last grade that may enter at this time. Sorry!
How much money can you get in this contest?
Bookmans is a sponsor of the PoeFest Student Writing Competition. All prizes must be discussed with PoeFest directly.
if you win?
In some parts of the website it lists the deadline as September 13th, however here it lists it as October 26th? Can I get a confirmation of the deadline?
We have been told that it is October 26, 2021. Any changes will appear at PoeFest.org first before the updates will appear on our website.
Do we include the info it said to in the email?
Yes, please do include it.
