Bookmans Phoenix has a blast collaborating with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department Latino Institute to present Fridays in the Park. Every 2nd and 4th Friday, talented folks gather in Civic Space Park to share live music, movies, art, food trucks and camaraderie with fellow Phoenicians. Each week brings excitement to the park, but this installment is even more action packed. Enjoy a smorgasbord for the senses from 6 to 10 p.m., May 9 at Fridays in the Park.

Fridays in the Park

Come for the sweet spot of lovely weather before the heat of summer. Mega Radio 104.3 brings old school hits and friendly staff to get things started. The always charismatic, Fuerza Caribe will play upbeat salsa, bachata and merengue music live on the outdoor stage. A new exhibit of visual art by Jim Covarrubias will grace the walls of the A.E. England Gallery. Local performing artists, Mujeres del Sol will produce their Mother’s Day celebration inside the A.E. England Building. Local food trucks and the Fair Trade Café will serve delightful dishes and drinks. As always, Bookmans will be on site with fun and interactive activities. As the summer heats up, there is plenty of room inside the park’s charming A.E. England building, a former 1920s car dealership, for movies, music and more.

It’s inspiring to interact with so many local movers and shakers in one place. We hope to see you every 2nd and 4th Friday through June at Fridays in the Park. Remember to check out our other collaborative event with City of Phoenix, Arts and Smarts in the City from 2 to 4 p.m. on May 24 at Bookmans Phoenix.
