Want to make March 2020 an absolutely magical one? Add all of these incredible Bookmans events to your calendar! We have gobs of fun on the schedule at each of our stores!

Next up in BIG NEWS for Bookmans is artist Colin Cantwell, who is coming to Bookmans stores in March and April! If you’re not familiar with Colin Cantwell,  you will certainly recognize his work. Cantwell is the creator and model builder of some of the most recognizable ships in cinema history –  the Death Star, X-Wing, and other classic Star Wars ships!

Mr. Cantwell will be heading to Bookmans stores across Arizona, starting with Bookmans East on March 28 then Bookmans Phoenix on March 29! On April 4, Cantwell will be heading up to Bookmans Flagstaff for a visit too! This meet-and-greet is totally free to attend, and Mr. Cantwell will be charging $25 for autographs including a free print of one of his creations. You can also bring your own items or find one at Bookmans that you want him to sign!

Phew – that’s already a lot going on already, but there’s so much more! Here’s what else is coming to your local Bookmans store in March. That includes all of our stores celebrating Will Eisner Week March 1-7!

Flagstaff

Have you been up to Flagstaff lately? Our Bookmans Flagstaff store has been packed day after day, and with events like these, it’s easy to see why! Little readers will fall in love with literature every Friday at the Read to Me Storytime events. Of course, if you want to make Storytime an event for the whole family, bring everyone by for Drag Queen Storytime on March 8.

Pokemon fans are in for a huge treat this month too at the PokeMANS day-long Pokemon event! Trade, battle, and play for hours with other local trainers from 10 AM until 5 PM. They’re starting with a Pokemon Storytime and Craft, then moving onto big gameplay. That means a Nintendo Switch Pokemon DX Tournament!

If you’re more of a Magic the Gathering gamer, every single Sunday night is MtG Night at the Flag Cafe! Monday nights are set aside for NAU students to study up while they chill and socialize at Study Nights. It’s the smartest way to cram for midterms! For those who prefer to relax and hang out after work or school, Creative Spirits is heading back over for Studio Nights on March 19!

Mesa

It’s Spring Break time for school in the Mesa area, and Bookmans has your kids covered. Not only do they have fun scheduled during the day, but they also have your nights on lock too! Starting March 9, Mesa has daytime events including an Onward Celebration Party, Deb’s Dragons and Misunderstood Creatures, Storytime with Moon Mermaid, and Mr. Nature’s Music Garden to name a few!

Parents may be looking to get out and get creative after spending the day with your little ones. We’ve got your Spring Break nighttime plans right here, kicking off with a Creative Writing Workshop and a workshop with Cut + Paste PHX! There are also game nights including a Magic the Gathering Social, RPG Night hosted by Crit Hit AZ, Free Video Game Play, and more!

Even when it’s not Spring Break our Mesa store is positively bursting with fun in March. They’ve got The Sonoran Surfers stopping by for a free live music show, a Ukulele Party where you can learn chords, and Off the Cuff Improv too. Outside of the store, Bookmans Mesa will be at the I.D.E.A. Museum for Staff Volunteer Days and Ka-Pow Super Hero Adventure Run on March 23rd at Freestone Park in Gilbert AZ!

Phoenix

Spring is in the air, and Bookmans Phoenix is celebrating with their Spring Fling with Blackberry Fairy event. Spring in Phoenix also means that the Phoenix Fim Festival is back, and Bookmans is joining them again for another Kids’ Day! The Oasis 95.1/94.9 crew will be at Bookmans March 18 for Basketball Mayhem. You could enter their huge contest!

Music fills the air at Uke-A-La-La ukulele playing and learning workshop that our customers just can’t get enough of. What better way to learn to play than for free? You’ll also want to bring the whole family to the Phoenix store for Bark! At Bookmans if you’re looking for your new forever friend. Speaking of family fun, both the Pokemon Happy Hour and Beginner’s Dungeons & Dragons with Do Better Gaming are the perfect way to spend time together while having fun!

Tucson

Bookmans Northwest is keeping busy this Spring Break. Don’t miss the fun March 17 through March 21 with their Spring Break Movie Club, music, and crafts! Join our Northwest store for The Secret of Kells presented by Tucson for Teachers, then Toy Story 4, Fantastic Mr. Fox, and a Frozen II Sing-A-Long. March 21 they’re hosting a Tucson Folk Festival Showcase with Ron Pandy. Don’t miss the Storytime + Craft on March 19, and remember that every second Thursday is Storytime with Sign, an American sign language-enhanced book reading!

Adults will have plenty to do in March too like Bookmans Does Trivia: Parks and Recreation where you can test your knowledge of this hit show and win prizes! Painters and artists of all ages are welcome to sign up for Studio Night: Paint Edition at Midtown before all the seats are gone.  Then there’s the Will Eisner Week Cut + Paste Party at Bookmans NW where you can get your collage on in celebration of comic book art.

Combining two things we love, cooking and music, Bookmans Northwest will be at Button Brew House for their brand new Cookbook Club and Social Spin March 25. BYO vinyl to play! If you prefer to make your own music, the Mesenberg Method Guitar Totality Clinic is coming back to our Midtown store. Prefer a regular book club? The brand new Romance Book Club with Jessica Pryde are having their first official discussion on the 31st. Just want to cook and share your food? You can always join the original Cook Book Club at Bookmans East.
