July Events, Big Sales, and Celebrations at Bookmans!
July is the last of the long summer months, and Bookmans wants to make sure that you have plenty of opportunities to beat the heat and have a blast doing it with our July events! We’ve got so many celebrations heading to Bookmans communities in July including some really big ones that you won’t want to miss. Best of all, our Summer Sales are continuing in July so you can save even more on the things you love!
Before we get to the events, let’s get to the big sale! From July 3 – July 7, Bookmans Summer Sale celebrates cinema! For 5 limited days, Bookmans is having a BUY-3-GET-1-FREE on DVDs! That includes TV shows (hello, The Office), Blu-ray and 4K movies, and collections. There are movies for everyone from new Disney classics to Marvel to anime and so much more. Make your list of most-wanted movies and head to Bookmans to save on your collection!
Flagstaff
A big, BIG party is heading to Bookmans Flagstaff this month. Whether you’re a Flagstaff resident or just passing through town, mark your calendar on July 13 so you don’t miss the Midnight Madness Party and Sale at Bookmans Flag! Our Flag store is going to stay open late so we can cram as much excitement, activity, and sales into one night. There are too many awesome Midnight Madness plans to list them all, but they include a movie in the parking lot, pop culture trivia, a whole lot of opportunities to win a Bookmans gift box or bag, improve, robot races, a DJ, and more. Every hour brings prizes, savings, and fun for everyone. As the party goes on the savings go up, so the later you stay the less you’ll pay!
There are also Summer Video Game Tournaments with Kikori Con, Drag Queen Storytime, Houseplants 101 with Warners Nursery, free Summer Kids Events and many more events to make July a spectacular one in Flagstaff!
Tucson
Bookmans’ Tucson stores are celebrating summer and getting out into the local community in July. Bookmans East is working with University of Arizona’s Flandrau Science Center and Planetarium to bring children a whole lot of planetary fun with their very special Starrytime and Music Hour on July 16! Another local group, the Pima Animal Care Center, is hosting a pet adoption event at Bookmans Midtown! There is a tremendous need for these animals to find forever homes, so if you are looking to adopt, don’t miss your chance to find your new best friend this month at Midtown or at East. Speaking of animals, Bookmans Northwest is celebrating our nation’s independence with a very special Paws for Patriots with the Humane Society Paws and Pages Literacy Program on July 4th! Show your support for literacy, our heroic service members, and some four-pawed heroes too!
Looking for family entertainment? The whole family is welcome to join Midtown for Kids Movie and Craft Night featuring Despicable Me 3! Bring the whole family over to your local Tucson Bookmans store for Family Game Night in July at our East, Northwest, and Midtown stores. If you prefer video games to board games, check out the Super Smash Bros. tournaments at every Tucson store! East’s is July 27, Midtown’s on July 13, and July 20 at Northwest. These tournaments fill up FAST, so if you want a seat and the chance to challenge local gamers, be sure to email your Bookmans store to save your seat.
Comic creators, readers, and fans alike are encouraged to come out to Bookmans East to dive head first into the local comic book scene on July 27 for the Geekfest Mini Comic-Con! On July 28, join our NW store for SALEF Back to School Saftey and Health Fair too. Our Tucson team will be out and about in the community all month long too, first up at Feed the Fun Game Night at the Tucson Mall July 11 where gamers are encouraged to come out and play some board games, hang out in our Musical Instrument Petting Zoo, and of course, donate canned and non-perishable items to the Community Food Bank.
The Badges and Backpacks event is a great way to prepare little ones for school in the fall, and Bookmans is glad to work with the Pima County Sheriff’s Department on July 13 to give out backpacks and school supplies to children all over Southern Arizona. Last but not least, the Bookmans crew will be at Reid Park Zoo on July 20 for Summer Safari Nights: Game Night, and we’ll be bringing a whole lot of fun with us!
Mesa
Over in the Valley, Bookmans Mesa is bringing the community a brand new book club – the Treat Your Shelf YA Book Club! The first meeting is July 3, so bring your reading suggestions! They’ve also got two Studio Nights in July where you can learn how to make buttons and paint a beautiful summer scene. Studio Nights at the Mesa store are always packed, so be sure to reserve your seats early. Music lovers have two chances to make some beautiful music as well at the Ukulele Party and the Learn Guitar Workshop. If you’re more the board game type, they’ve also got two upcoming game nights including a Family Board Game Night and an RPG Night hosted by Crit Hit AZ!
Phoenix
Come one, come all to the Family Game Night July event at Bookmans Phoenix! Though the July 17 Super Smash Bros. Tournament is already completely full, the players still need the community to come and cheer for them. Sunshine Craft & Co. will be heading their way for a Macrame Keychain Making event on July 25, so email phoenixevents@bookmans.com to reserve your seats for this craft session. If you’ve been wanting to try your hand at Dungeons & Dragons, look no further than Beginner’s D&D with Do Better Gaming! Closing out July is the new Better Read Than Dead Horror Book Club meeting. The biggest news heading to Bookmans Phoenix is the Phoenix Independent Comic Show featuring local, independent comic book artists you will definitely want to get to know.
Phew, that was a lot of July events happening at Bookmans!
Remember, Bookmans stores are open July 4 from 11 AM until 6 PM too, so there’s plenty of time to shop and enjoy this week’s Summer Sale! Don’t forget to turn in those completed Summer Reads cards too so you can get yourself a free 10th book AND have Bookmans donate a book to a local literacy nonprofit too!
